How important is sleep?

A good night’s sleep is crucial to a healthy life and a sense of well-being, no matter what age you are. In my career as a sleep expert, I have seen firsthand how much quality of life is improved for children and adults who start sleeping well.


Sleep, just like eating is necessary for survival. When people eat an unhealthy diet, they become malnourished and their body suffers. The same is true for people with unhealthy sleeping habits. Lack of sleep causes them to become mentally malnourished and staves us of the energy we need to be happy and well adjusted.

The most serious consequence of sleep deprivation is that it can lead to dangerous feelings of disappointment, resentment, or even anger. Sleep is undeniably important for everyone.

Society is so fast-paced, people are working earlier and longer hours with less rest time in between. Modern technology has allowed us to be connected 24/7. We rely on coffee and energy drinks to get through out day.
